Plans & Billing FAQ

Plans

What plans does People Data Labs offer?
People Data Labs offers three plans:

  • Free (Monthly): Every new user automatically starts with a free forever plan, with no credit card required. As your usage increases, you can add a credit card and increase the volume for only the endpoints you need.
  • Professional (Monthly or Annual): Professional plans can be accessed immediately through the self-serve API Dashboard on a month-to-month or an annual basis.
  • Enterprise (Annual): Enterprise plans offer additional access to API endpoints, premium data field bundles and bespoke customer success services.

How what is included in the People Data Labs Free Tier?
Free plans are given a monthly usage limit of 100 credits for testing each of the following self-serve plans: Person Enrichment API, Person Search API, Company Enrichment API and Company Search API. Free plans automatically begin upon onboarding and renew each month until one or more plans are upgraded.

What are the benefits of annual self-serve plans?
With annual plans, you can access additional volume discounts and flexibly draw from a pool of credits throughout the year.

  • Volume discounts: An additional 10% discount on top of our volume-based pricing
  • Usage flexibility: The flexibility to accommodate spikes and dips in usage
  • Instant access: Get started or upgrade at any time through the API Dashboard

Credit Usage & Provisioning

How is usage calculated?
For self-serve plans, credit usage is based on the number of records successfully returned.

  • Search APIs return multiple records per call (all profiles that meet your search parameters.)
  • Enrichment APIs return one record per call (the best match for the profile you are enriching.)

In both cases, you are only charged for calls that return a successful 200 response.

What happens to unused credits?
As long as you remain an active customer on a paid plan, you are able to roll over unused credits up to the total number of credits in your upcoming plan.

For example, if you’re set to renew on a 2,500 credit plan, you can roll over up to 2,500 unused credits onto your next cycle. If you are set to switch to a 1,000 credit plan, up to 1,000 unused credits will roll over.

If you downgrade to a free tier, you will have until the end of that cycle to use remaining credits. At the end of the paid subscription cycle, any remaining credits will expire.

Is it possible to exceed my usage limit?
It is not possible to exceed your usage limit on self-serve plan. However, you can upgrade to a new plan at any time. If you run out of credits, you will lose the ability to make API calls until the plan renews or is upgraded.

How many credits will I need?
Usage is based on the number of records successfully returned (or 200 responses).

  • Enrichment APIs: Select a subscription volume based on the number of records you'll need to enrich. For example, if you have a list of 1,000 records you will need 1,000 credits.
  • Search APIs: Use the Person Search Query Builder to preview how many records match your parameters before using Person Enrichment credits. To find out how many Company Search credits you will need, contact us for an estimate.

Billing & Payments

How are plans charged?
Your payment method will be charged upon purchase and at the start of each subsequent billing period.

How do upgrades work?
Upgrades take effect immediately.

  • A new plan and billing cycle begin at the time of upgrade.
  • Unused credits roll over up to the total number of credits in your upcoming plan.

How do downgrades work?
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current cycle.

  • A new plan and billing cycle begin at the end of the current cycle
  • Unused credits roll over up to the total number of credits in your upcoming plan.

Note: Downgrading during an annual cycle will not convert the current plan to a monthly or freemium subscription but rather affect the upcoming plan, which starts at the end of the current annual cycle.

How do cancellations work?
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current cycle.

  • A free plan begins at the end of the current cycle.
  • Unused credits do not roll over to the free plan.

What happens if my payment fails?
If the payment for a paid plan fails upon renewal, it will be automatically downgraded to a free plan until a successful payment is made. Once the payment is reconciled, a new subscription begins for the paid API endpoint.

Upgrading to Enterprise

How do I upgrade to an Enterprise plan?
If you've outgrown your Professional plan, we can connect you with a Data Consultant to explore enterprise options.

What happens when I upgrade to an Enterprise plan?
When you upgrade a subscription to an Enterprise plan, unused credits will roll over to the following billing cycle for that API subscription. Any additional credits must be purchased through a dedicated CSM. Non-Enterprise API subscriptions will receive 100 free monthly credits.
