Commentary

  • Person
    • We saw a large decrease (~20%) over the past month in the fill rate for job_company_twitter_url and experience.company.twitter_url as a result of removing some legacy sources of company social profile information (see Improvements below)
    • We saw an increase of 8% in the fill rate for experience.location_names as a result of a bug fix (see Bug Fixes below)
  • Company
    • We saw a small decrease in the number of total companies over the past month (~0.1%) as a result of removing several legacy sources of company social information.
  • Job Posting Data
    • This month, we added another 1k unique companies to our Job Posting dataset.

Improvements and Bug Fixes

Improvements

  • Linkedin URL 404s
    • We added a condition to compare our profiles.last_seen date to our last url verification date to determine if a url was no longer active. This resulted in dropping ~100k linkedin_urls from the top level url field.
  • Removed Historical Company Data Sources
    • We removed 10+ historical sources of online social profile information which reduced the rate of Frankenstein (false positive merged) records and records with out of date LinkedIn URLs.
    • This resulted in a decrease to the number of company records with a non-null Facebook URL, and records with a non-null Twitter URL.

Bug Fixes

  • Experience Location Names
    • We fixed a bug that was causing unexpected drops in experience.location_names.
